TV time really damage the eyes kids' (Y!) (Green)

Your mother always told you that look too television was bad for your eyes. And she was right. New Australian research has found that that spend too much time watching TV could cause irreparable harm to the eyes of the child and may even entail risks for health later in life.

The study, published in the journal arteriosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular biology was conducted by researchers at the University of Sydney of the Australia. Researchers evaluated recommended six years selected randomly from 34 schools throughout Sydney. Surveys of parents completed for children on the amount of time their children spent exercise and the amount of time they spend in a computer or TV.

Then, they examined the eyes of children. They found that children who watch the most TV had smaller blood vessels in their eyes that children who watched least. In addition to potential damage to the health of the eyes, these small blood vessels can damage the overall health of the child later in life. In adults, the small blood vessels are indicators of increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

It is still not clear exactly how and if TV time could lead to heart disease via damage to eyes. But it is clear that watching too much television is amended the eyes of a child at a time when they are more vulnerable to damage. And that is reason enough to disable.

More reason for children to move away from the screen and play outside. It is healthier in the short term and long term.
