Water affects mood (Y!) (Green)

While we know that it is important to drink water for optimal physical operation, a Tufts University 2009 survey concluded that a lack of adequate water consumption also has a tangible impact on our mood.

The subjects of the study were 31 male and female student athletes who made 60 to 75 minutes of aerobic activity high impact, although only slightly dehydrated. These students reported feeling more fatigue, depression, confusion, tension or anger than the control group who engage in similar activities.

The Tufts research team has also studied the impact of the dehydration of the cognitive abilities of the athlete. While there was a negative influence on cognition, it was concluded that there is a strong correlation between mild dehydration and mood.

Authors of the study take into account the amount of dehydration (1-2% losses) comparable to mild dehydration, that many people experience on a daily basis by inadequate amounts of water to drink.

Thus, the amount of water should we drink on a daily basis? The amount differs according to variables such as weight, level of activity and weather conditions. The generally recommended amount is eight to nine glasses of water per day. According to Kristen e. Of Anci, PhD, one of the principal investigators of the study of the clumps, "eight glasses of 8 ounces of water a day never harm anybody."

Another general indicator of water use adequate is the amount and color of your urine; If you produce approximately 6.3 cups of urine per day and it is a colourless to slightly yellow (i.e. step concentrated and dark), it is a good indication that you do not consume enough water.

Wait, however, to feel thirst, thirst is usually a sign that you are already slightly dehydrated. And as strange as it may seem, it is possible to drink too much water, which resulted in the water intoxication, which can lead to death. As it is useful in a large part of life, let common sense and consider what you feel be your guide.
