Slide show: Innovators in health care (click on image to enlarge and complete slideshow) Allscripts Healthcare Solutions has entered into a 10 year agreement with Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a subsidiary of Xerox, to provide it services hosted for providers of health care with the Allscripts Sunrise Enterprise following the support of electronic health records (EHR).
ACS will help Allscripts in the clinical management and applications of EHR technology for Allscripts clients who use hosting services distance in their relationship with Allscripts. Other services include the complete data Centre hosting operations spanning mainframe, servers, storage, backup, recovery, network and cross-functional support.

Harris also said that more hospitals are turning to hosted patient records systems to keep it simple, while relying on vendors such as ACS to help adapt to the new regulations and new services. As payment in health care paradigm shifts and the Allscripts clients face complex needs and more in more around new regulatory requirements, ACS support Allscripts as it scales to deliver service levels required for various health care settings, according to spokesman Allscripts Catherine Riedel.
"Immediately ACS will begin to focus on standardisation and optimize our business processes, helping to manage our agreements at the level of service on the availability of the system and to improve our ability to recovery and security," Riedel said. Allscripts announced the agreement in his most recent SEC filing, saying that the agreement was signed on 31 March. Allscripts said he will pay ACS about 50 million dollars a year, but expects to generate savings that have been taken into account in its cost estimates, previously disclosed $ 25 million in 2011 2012 $ 35 million and 40 million in 2013.
