Medicare previews EHR incentives Attestation system

For eligible professionals, the meaningful use criteria requires that you must declare on 15 basic measures, five ten measures of menu and six measures of quality of clinics, composed of three basic measures necessary and three additional measures. For eligible hospitals and CAHS, meaningful use criteria requires that you must declare on 14 basic measures, five measures menu 10 and 15 clinics quality measures.

In its overview document, CMS displays several screens that provide eligible professionals the information they will be asked to provide examples. For example, the screen where eligible professionals are told that they must meet and satisfy all 15 of the basic steps, the document explains that certain measures basic and menu can be based on all files or only those records kept in certified EHR technology.

"Where applicable, eligible professionals must indicate how was extracted data from patient records." Some fundamental and menu measures also provide exclusions specific needs. Eligible professionals may be excluded from a goal if they meet the circumstances of exclusion, "says the document.

Under the incentive program EHR Medicare, eligible professionals may receive up to $44,000 over five years. There is an additional incentive for eligible professionals who provide services in a health professional shortage (HSPA) area. To receive a maximum incentive payment, professional eligible Medicare must begin participation by 2012. Incentive for eligible hospitals and CAHS payments are based on a number of factors, beginning by a payment of $ 2 million base.
